The Teaching Philosophy and History of ARC Academy Japanese Language School

ARC Academy was founded in 1986 to help foreign business-related people who want to acquire Japanese as communication tool.
"ARC" means "the bridge to the world". When ARC academy was founded, the number of foreigners who had business transaction with Japanese companies was increasing as Japanese economy improved a great deal. This resulted in the number of foreign employees working for Japanese companies also drastically increased.
Most of such Foreign Japanese language learners are interested in not only Japanese language itself but also Japanese culture and history. By meeting such various demands from them, ARC Academy would like to create opportunities for communication with many people around the world in the field of Japanese language teaching.
As of January, 2001, foreign students from more than 40 countries are studying at different courses available at our school varied from private lesson to regular course. Foreign students studying at our school are composed of Japanese language learners from overseas, business-related people, researchers, embassy workers and language teachers.

In addition to Japanese language courses for foreigners, Professional Japanese teacher training courses for Japanese natives are also offered at our school as qualified Japanese teachers who finish training with high quality are in great demand to increasing Japanese language learners in and outside Japan. The total number of current students at ARC Academy Professional Japanese teacher training course and those who completed the course constitute 30 percent of successful applicants who passed Japanese-language teaching competency test regularly held every October.

Making the best use of our actual achievement in Japanese teaching field, we are applying our unique teaching method to Korean language teaching and Chinese language teaching, moreover, are now fostering human resources corresponding to the sophisticated networking society to administer lesson system by unique in-school network called "Web administering lesson system". Through these activities, we hope to continue to contribute to the world peace and future of human race.
